Frequently asked
What is DealDatabase?
DealDatabase is a searchable record of law firm deal announcements. It shows which firms advised on each transaction, the lawyers named on each team, the client and counterparties, the disclosed value, the sector and the jurisdictions involved. It currently covers 10,789 deals from 2018 onwards.
Where does the data come from?
Every record is built from a deal announcement published on Legal Desire, the international legal news publication. Each record links back to the original announcement, so you can always read the source.
How often is DealDatabase updated?
New deals are added as they are announced, usually within a day of publication. The figures on this site update automatically as the database grows.
Is DealDatabase free to use?
Yes. Every deal is free to read in full with no account: the advising firms and their roles, the lawyers on each deal team, disclosed values, clients and counterparties. Paid plans add complete firm and lawyer histories, analytics, market share views, CSV and Excel export and custom reports, from $99 a month billed annually.
Can my firm submit its deals?
Yes, free. Create a free account, submit the announcement, and follow its status from your dashboard. Once published, the deal appears in the database with a link to the announcement, and the firm and its lawyers appear on their profiles.
Can I claim my lawyer or firm profile?
Yes. Lawyers and firms can claim their profile to add a biography, photo, contact details and links. Claims are verified against a work email address.
