DealDatabase is published by Legal Desire Media and Consulting ("we"). This policy explains what personal data we hold, why we hold it, and the choices you have.

Lawyers named in deal announcements

Deal announcements published by law firms name the lawyers who worked on each transaction. For each named lawyer we hold the name as published, the firm, the seniority, practice area and office where the announcement gives them, and the date of the announcement. We do not add information from other sources.

We process this information on the basis of legitimate interests: the announcements are published by the firms for public reading, and a searchable record of them serves clients, the profession and researchers. We keep the record limited to what the announcements state.

Correction and removal

You can ask us to correct a detail, remove your name from a deal, remove your name from every deal, or withdraw a record, using the corrections form or by emailing office@legaldesire.com. There is no charge. Removals apply across the whole site and remain in place. We keep a record of each request and its outcome so that we can honour it.

Accounts

If you create an account we store your email address, your name if you give it, and your subscription details. Sign-in uses a one-time email link or code, so there is no password to store. Saved searches you create are stored with your account.

Forms

Details you send through the access, claim, correction, submission and contact routes are used to respond to you and provide the service. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking scripts. Your sign-in session and your light or dark theme preference are stored in your browser. Fonts are served by Google Fonts.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the service, including hosting, database and email delivery providers. They process data only on our instructions.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of them, email office@legaldesire.com.
